Waste & Recycling Dashboard Scope 3
The Waste & Recycling Dashboard monitors waste generation, diversion rates, and carbon impact across your facilities. Access it via Dashboard > Waste & Recycling on the sidebar.
Prerequisites
- Waste data submitted through Task Manager or Data Templates
- Method selection as either Activity (tonnes/volume) or Spend (financial cost)
- Node attribution to specific facilities
If you submit data via Spend only, only the Total Emissions card will populate. Weight and volume breakdowns require physical activity measurements.
Key Performance Indicators
Total Waste
Physical weight in tonnes across all facilities.
Diversion Rate
Percentage of waste diverted from landfills.
No. of Waste Streams
Count of unique waste categories tracked.
Total Emissions
Carbon footprint from waste in tCO₂e.
Visualisations
- Waste Generation Trends — Area chart showing monthly fluctuations by waste stream type
- Waste Breakdown by Weight — Donut chart showing tonnage percentages by category
- Waste Breakdown by Volume — Cubic metre visualisation of physical space occupied

Recommendation
To get the most value out of this dashboard, try to obtain weight-based reports from your waste contractors rather than relying solely on invoices. Activity data provides much richer insights than spend-only data.
