Modelling Manual Entry Audit Trail
The Modelling feature accommodates emissions calculations completed outside NetNada, such as consultant work or historical greenhouse gas inventories. You can manually enter pre-calculated values and upload supporting evidence to create an audit-ready record.
Access via Measure > Modelling on the sidebar.
Prerequisites
- The finalised emissions value and calculation methodology
- Original spreadsheets, reports, or PDFs proving calculations
- Knowledge of the applicable business unit (Node) and GHG Category
Three-Step Process
1
Context Documentation
Select the organisational entity/node and use the Notes / Evidence Link field to explain where the data came from (e.g., "Data from FY25 Sustainability Report, pg. 15").
2
Evidence Upload
Use the Drag & drop files here zone to upload supporting documents. These become part of the permanent audit trail accessible under Identify > Files and Submissions > Modelling.
3
Emission Entry Recording
Select the appropriate GHG Category, input the pre-calculated value in tCOโe, and define Start Date and End Date for automatic monthly distribution. Use (+) Add Emission Entry for multiple categories.
Interface Elements
| Element | Action |
|---|---|
| Organisational Entity (Dropdown) | Selects the responsible business unit |
| Drag & drop files here | Opens file browser for evidence upload |
| (+) Add Emission Entry | Creates a new emission entry row |
| Save Submission | Finalises the entry and integrates into inventory |
Expected Results
Values integrate into the Emissions Dashboard with month-by-month distribution across the specified date range. Uploaded documents link to entries in the audit trail.
Tips
Use detailed notes instead of vague descriptions. This feature works well for proxy or estimated data โ just document your logic. Upload a single report once, then create multiple emission entry rows as needed.
Troubleshooting
Missing Dates error
Both Start Date and GHG Category are required โ no blank fields permitted.
Incorrect Units
Convert external calculations to tonnes of COโe before entering.
Evidence Not Showing
Missing file uploads may result in "low confidence" audit flags. Files can be attached later by editing the submission.
