Files and Submissions Data Management

The Files and Submissions page is the central registry for every piece of data uploaded into your NetNada account. It shows the status of each upload, who submitted it, which node and category it belongs to, and lets you drill into individual records or handle errors. Navigate to Identify > Files and Submissions.

You can also reach a file's detail view by clicking View File from the background processing alert after completing a data upload.

Data Sources

Files and submissions are organised by how the data entered NetNada:

SourceDescriptionExamples
FilesSpreadsheets and documents uploaded via the Carbon Data Uploader or task viewExcel exports from accounting software, CSV transaction files
BillsInvoices and utility bills processed by NetNada's document reader (OCR)Electricity invoices, waste contractor bills
CalculatorsData entered directly using NetNada's built-in calculatorsWaste calculator, employee commute survey
ModellingPre-calculated emissions uploaded from external sourcesPrevious carbon inventories, consultant reports with CO2e figures

File Statuses

Each upload has a status that tells you where it is in the processing pipeline:

StatusMeaningAction
CompletedData has been processed, mapped, and emissions have been calculated. No action needed. You can view records or download the file.
In ProgressData is being processed in the background. Calculations are running.Wait for processing to complete. You'll be notified when it's done.
ErrorSomething went wrong during processing. The file could not be fully imported.Click the file to see which rows have errors and what the issue is.

Reviewing a File

Click on any file to see its details. For a completed file, you'll see:

  • Owner โ€” Who uploaded the file
  • Upload date โ€” When it was submitted
  • Start and end dates โ€” The time range the data covers
  • Nodes โ€” Which organisational entities the data is linked to
  • Records โ€” Click View Records to see the individual rows of data

In the records view, you can search by supplier name to find specific transactions. Each record shows the description, account code, account name, account type, and amount.

Handling Errors

If a file has an error status, NetNada will show you exactly what went wrong and in which rows the errors are present. Common causes include:

  • Incorrect date formats (NetNada expects DD/MM/YYYY)
  • Missing values in required fields
  • Unrecognised currency codes
  • Blank rows in the middle of the data

Fix the issues in your source file and re-upload through the same task or data template.

Managing Files

From the file detail view, you can:

  • Delete the file โ€” Removes the file and its associated records from your carbon inventory. Use this if the data was uploaded to the wrong category or contains errors that cannot be corrected.
  • Edit the GHG category โ€” Reassign the file to a different greenhouse gas category. For example, if data was uploaded as purchased goods and services but should be capital goods or business travel, you can change it here.

Filtering

Use the filters at the top of the page to narrow down your view by data source (files, bills, calculators, modelling), status, node, or GHG category. Clear all filters to see everything that has been uploaded into your account.

FAQ

Can I download a file that was uploaded by someone else on my team?
Yes. All users with access to the account can view and download any file in the Files and Submissions page. Click the hyperlinked file name to download it to your machine.
What happens when I delete a file?
Deleting a file removes its associated records from your carbon inventory. The deletion is logged for audit purposes. This action cannot be undone โ€” re-upload the file if you need the data again.
How do I know which task a file is linked to?
The file detail view shows the GHG category and node. You can cross-reference this with your task manager to find the corresponding task. Files uploaded directly from a task are also visible in the task's submitted data table.
Can I re-upload a file to correct errors?
Yes. Delete the errored file, fix the issues in your source spreadsheet, and upload it again through the same task or data template.
