Emissions Dashboard Walkthrough

The GHG Emissions Dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of your organisation's carbon footprint across Scope 1, 2, and 3. Use it to track totals, identify top contributors, and share results with stakeholders. Access it via Analyse > Dashboards > All Scopes.

Key Metrics

The dashboard displays:

  • Total emissions โ€” Your combined footprint in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCOโ‚‚e)
  • Scope 1 โ€” Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources
  • Scope 2 โ€” Indirect emissions from purchased energy (defaults to location-based method)
  • Scope 3 โ€” All other indirect emissions in your value chain
Scope 2 on this dashboard defaults to location-based emissions, which tends to be the higher of the two methods. For market-based figures, use the Electricity Dashboard.

Emissions Over Time

An area chart tracks your emissions throughout the reporting period, colour-coded by scope:

ColourScope
PurpleScope 1 โ€” Direct Emissions
TealScope 2 โ€” Purchased Energy
OrangeScope 3 โ€” Value Chain

Top Contributors

The dashboard shows a distribution and percentage of total for the top contributing categories โ€” broken down not only by Scope 1, 2, and 3, but also by subcategory (e.g., purchased goods and services, business travel, electricity). This helps you quickly identify where to focus decarbonisation efforts.

Filtering

Customise your view using the controls at the top of the dashboard:

  • Node filter โ€” Select a specific facility, region, or entity to see only its emissions
  • Date range โ€” Adjust the time period. Changes update instantly across all visualisations

Sharing

Click Share to generate a view-only link. Anyone with the link can see the dashboard without needing a NetNada account โ€” useful for sharing with board members, investors, or external stakeholders who need to see your emissions overview without accessing the full platform.

Downloading Data

Click Download to export your emissions data as a spreadsheet. The download includes aggregated data (grouped by GHG category, month, year, and facility) rather than individual transaction rows. Each row shows: total emissions, scope, category, category name, month, year, facility name, and facility ID.

For individual transaction-level data, use the Audit Page export instead.

The downloaded spreadsheet is useful for creating your own pivot tables, integrating with other reporting tools, or sharing raw numbers with stakeholders who prefer working in Excel.

FAQ

Why is my dashboard showing zero emissions?
Check that you have data uploaded for the selected time period and node. Also ensure your data has finished processing โ€” the system will alert you when new calculations are complete. Refresh the page to see updated figures.
What is the difference between the dashboard download and the audit page export?
The dashboard download provides aggregated emissions by category and month โ€” useful for summaries and charts. The audit page export provides every individual transaction with full detail โ€” useful for auditors and line-by-line review.
Can someone with a shared link edit my data?
No. Shared links are view-only. Recipients can see your dashboard but cannot make any changes to your data or settings.
Why does Scope 2 show location-based by default?
Location-based is typically the higher figure and is required by most reporting frameworks. Market-based figures (which account for renewable energy purchases) are available on the Electricity Dashboard.
