How to manage your asset registry
Last updated: 18 August 2026
The asset registry is where you record the physical energy assets your organisation owns โ currently your on-site solar systems, including any battery storage attached to them. Access it via Admin > Asset Registry, under the Company section of the Admin Panel.
In this article, you'll learn how to:
- Understand what the asset registry holds and why it matters
- Add a solar system and link it to the right facility
- Edit an asset's details after it's been added
- See how registered assets connect to your emissions calculations
What the Asset Registry Holds
Each entry in the registry represents one on-site solar (photovoltaic) system at one of your facilities. Alongside the system itself, you can record an attached battery energy storage system (BESS), the installation date, the manufacturer, and the warranty expiry.
The registry table shows each system's name, its facility, the system capacity in kW, the battery capacity in kWh, and the installation date. The same table also appears at the bottom of the On-site Solar dashboard, so you can manage assets from either place.
Add a Solar System
Open the asset registry
Choose the facility
Name the system
Enter the capacities
Add the dates and manufacturer
Save the asset
Edit an Asset
To change an asset's details, click the three-dot menu at the end of its row and select Edit. Update the fields you need and click Save Changes. There is currently no option to delete an asset from the registry โ if you need one removed, contact the NetNada support team.
How Assets Connect to Your Emissions Calculations
When you upload on-site solar generation data, NetNada asks you to select which renewable system the upload belongs to. The upload cannot proceed until a solar system exists for the selected facility โ so register the asset before uploading generation data.
If you reach the upload step and the facility has no solar system configured, NetNada shows a prompt with an Add Solar System shortcut that takes you straight to the asset registry. Once the asset exists, your generation data is tied to it, which keeps your renewable energy reporting attributed to the right system and facility.
