Renewable Energy Dashboard Solar Asset Registry
The Renewable Energy Dashboard tracks on-site renewable energy generation โ primarily solar โ and its impact on your emissions. Use it to monitor production, understand how much of your energy comes from renewables, and see the Scope 2 reduction benefit. Access it via Analyse > Dashboards > Renewables.
Setup Requirements
- Asset Registry โ Create your solar systems (and batteries, if applicable) in Admin > Asset Registry
- Link to a node โ Each solar system must be linked to an existing facility node
- Upload production data โ Submit generation data through the Task Manager
Multiple solar systems and batteries can be assigned to a single facility. The dashboard aggregates production across all assets.
Key Metrics
- Total renewables generated โ Total clean energy produced (kWh)
- Emissions avoided โ COโe that would have been emitted if the same energy came from the grid. You can reference this in the strategy section of your climate report.
- Renewable energy percentage โ What proportion of your total energy consumption comes from on-site renewables
- Scope 2 percentage reduction โ The market-based Scope 2 reduction attributable to your renewable generation
Visualisations
- Monthly solar production โ A bar chart showing generation, on-site consumption, grid exports, and grid usage month by month
- Energy consumption breakdown โ Donut chart showing the balance between renewable and grid energy
- Renewable usage breakdown โ Donut chart comparing self-consumed vs. exported renewable energy
Asset Registry
At the bottom of the dashboard, the asset registry table lists all your renewable energy systems and batteries. For each asset, you can see:
- System name and type (solar, battery)
- System capacity (kW or kWh)
- Linked facility
- Hardware specifications
Click Add Solar System to create a new asset, or use the edit actions to modify existing ones.

FAQ
Why is the dashboard blank?
Both steps are required: (1) create a solar system in Admin > Asset Registry and link it to a node, and (2) upload production data through the Task Manager. Check that both have been completed.
How does this relate to my Scope 2 figures?
Renewable generation reduces your market-based Scope 2 emissions. The Scope 2 percentage reduction metric on this dashboard shows the impact. Your location-based Scope 2 is unaffected, as it uses grid averages regardless of your energy source.
Can I include purchased renewable energy certificates (not on-site generation)?
Purchased renewable energy (like GreenPower) is handled through the emissions boundary setup and affects your market-based Scope 2 on the Electricity Dashboard. This dashboard is specifically for on-site generation.
My export values look wrong โ what should I check?
This is often caused by swapped meter data. Review your uploaded data to ensure generation, consumption, and export figures are in the correct columns.
