Carbon measurement and climate reporting for Five V portfolio companies

A practical starting point for Five V portfolio companies to understand expectations, build the fundamentals, and measure their carbon footprint.

From Five V Capital

Understanding and managing greenhouse gas emissions is an increasingly important part of building resilient, competitive businesses. With the introduction of mandatory climate-related financial disclosures in Australia, expectations around the measurement and reporting of emissions are continuing to evolve across the broader business landscape.

As part of Five V's ESG Minimum Standards, we expect all portfolio companies to participate in our annual ESG data collection process and measure their Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions footprint each year. We also strongly encourage companies to measure Scope 3 emissions where practical and relevant.

We recognise that carbon accounting can be complex, particularly for companies measuring their emissions for the first time. The resources on this page are designed to help you understand the fundamentals, build internal capability and take practical steps towards measuring your emissions footprint. Five V has also partnered with NetNada to provide portfolio companies with access to additional support for carbon measurement and reporting.

Carbon measurement is an iterative process, and the most important step is getting started. We encourage you to use these resources to build your understanding and strengthen the quality of your emissions data over time.
