Team Collaboration & User Management

Carbon accounting is a team effort. NetNada makes it easy to invite colleagues for data collection and external advisors for expert review—with role-based access that keeps everyone focused on their responsibilities.

How It Works

Carbon accounting projects span 6-12 months and require input from multiple stakeholders. NetNada provides distinct collaboration pathways for internal team members and external advisors, ensuring the right people have the right access.

1

Invite Internal Team Members

Navigate to Admin > Invites > Team Members tab to generate shareable invite links. Send links via email or internal channels. Invited colleagues create accounts and join your organisation's workspace.

2

Assign Roles and Responsibilities

Team members can be assigned specific tasks in Task Manager. Distribute data collection across departments—facilities for utilities, finance for spend data, operations for fleet information.

3

Invite External Advisors

Navigate to Admin > Invites > Advisors tab to create advisor-specific invite links. Alternatively, enter unique connection codes provided by your sustainability consultant or auditor.

4

Advisor Collaboration

Connected advisors can review evidence, verify audit trails, upload data on your behalf, and help prepare reports. Their access is designed for support without disrupting your team's workflow.

5

Manage Access Over Time

View and manage all connected users and advisors from Admin settings. Revoke access when team members leave or engagements end. Maintain clear records of who has platform access.

Why Use Team Collaboration Features

Distributed Data Collection

Carbon data lives across your organisation. Invite the people who know the data—facilities, finance, operations, HR—to contribute directly rather than funnelling everything through one person.

Expert Support Access

Sustainability consultants and auditors need platform access to do their jobs. Advisor invites provide appropriate access without sharing login credentials or creating security risks.

Role-Appropriate Access

Team members see tasks assigned to them and can upload data. Advisors can review and support but can't disrupt operational settings. Access matches responsibility.

Audit Trail for Access

Know who has accessed your account and when. User management provides clear records for security review and audit compliance.

Flexible Engagement Models

Whether you work with consultants on retainer, engage auditors annually, or have rotating team responsibilities, the collaboration model adapts to your needs.

Centralised Hub

All stakeholders work in the same platform. No version control issues, no email attachment tracking, no spreadsheet chaos. One source of truth for your carbon data.

Who Needs Team Collaboration Features

Sustainability Managers Coordinating Teams

You own the carbon footprint but need data from many colleagues. Invite team members, assign tasks, and track who has contributed without being a bottleneck.

CFOs Overseeing Climate Reporting

Climate reporting is increasingly a finance responsibility. Invite sustainability team members and consultants with appropriate access to prepare compliant disclosures.

Organisations Using External Consultants

If you work with sustainability consultancies or Big 4 firms, advisor invites let them access your data efficiently. No credential sharing, no manual data exports.

Companies Undergoing External Audit

Climate disclosures require audit. Invite auditors with review access to verify calculations, check documentation, and complete their work within the platform.

Multi-Department Organisations

When carbon data spans facilities, finance, procurement, HR, and operations, inviting representatives from each department creates efficient data collection workflows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Team Collaboration & User Management

What's the difference between team member and advisor invites?
Team member invites are for internal colleagues who will actively contribute data and manage their assigned areas. Advisor invites are for external consultants and auditors who need review access to support your carbon accounting but shouldn't make operational changes.
How many users can I invite?
User limits depend on your NetNada plan. Most plans include multiple team members and advisor connections. Contact sales for specific limits on your plan or to discuss volume arrangements for larger organisations.
Can I control what each user sees?
Role-based permissions control access. Team members see tasks assigned to them and can upload data for their areas. Advisors can review but not modify operational settings. Admin users have full access to all features and settings.
What happens when an invited user leaves the organisation?
Navigate to Admin settings to view connected users and revoke access for anyone who should no longer have it. Their historical activity remains in audit trails, but they can no longer access the platform.
Can external auditors see all our data?
Advisors (including auditors) can review data and calculations across your account for verification purposes. If you need to limit auditor access to specific areas, discuss with your NetNada account manager about custom access configurations.
How do connection codes work?
Some advisors have existing NetNada accounts (consultants serving multiple clients). They can generate a unique code you enter in your Admin settings to establish a connection. This avoids duplicate account creation and uses their existing advisor profile.
Can I see who has logged in recently?
Yes. The user management dashboard shows last login timestamps for all connected users. This helps identify engaged contributors and those who may need follow-up reminders.
Is there SSO (Single Sign-On) integration?
SSO integration is available for enterprise plans. This allows team members to log in using your corporate identity provider (Okta, Azure AD, etc.) without separate NetNada credentials. Contact sales for SSO setup.
